Hanne is a part time TV junkie, part time nail tech, and full time student. She's pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English at Clark University. Hanne loves the majority of shows on TV; from reality shows such as Big Brother, to comedies like The Big Bang Theory, to dramas like Pretty Little Liars. Growing up, she found books to be a great escape, and that quickly transformed into a love of television. She especially loves how reality shows allow you to form a bond with people - both the stars of the show and other fans - whom you most likely never would have met or interacted with otherwise. The Amazing Race recap videos are what introduced Hanne to Your Reality Recaps, and YRR in turn introduced her to an entire new world of reality shows. You can follow with her on twitter to get her perspective about everything from TV shows to random thoughts about life.

The Amazing Race is back! Season 27 started at Venice Beach, with teams introducing themselves intercut with footage of them running down the beach. The cheerleaders are apparently looking to defy the cheerleader, Jersey Girl stereotype, although they sang a different tune in their cast preview interviews. Phil announces that Rob and Brennan, the winners of The Amazing Race Season 1 are here, and then the crowd announces the racers’ first destination: Rio, Brazil. Once Phil says “go,” teams will take taxis to a beach, then compete in a water bike race to win the one and only ticket on the…

The Amazing Race is back tonight! I apologize for being so late with a cast preview blog, but I’ve been really busy with school, and then had some trouble with Wordpress. Here’s a quick preview of the racers before the premiere of The Amazing Race Season 27 tonight! First up are cousins Alex Manard & Adam Dingeman. Adam is a server who is grew up in Iowa, and one of his favorite hobbies is storm chasing in the Midwest. Alex works in retail sales, and thinks that his cousin talks too much. I have a feeling these two could get loud if things start to…

The final leg of The Amazing Race season 26 begun with teams flying to Dallas, Texas. All teams are on the same flight to Dallas, which leads to a taxi race to the AT&T stadium. At the stadium, teams reach a roadblock. Play Like A Pro requires one team member to get a playbook from the air (while wearing a harness), then catch a pass, and make a field goal. This so-called roadblock seems pretty easy, as racers get lifted in the air to get the football, and do little physical labor on the field. Although Mike & Rochelle were…

This leg of the race teams are heading to South America’s largest mosaic, which is located in Trujillo, Peru. They will be given a magnifying glass from a clown, then use it to search the mosaic for their next clue. In the taxi, Blair and Hayley joke about how Hayley’s biggest strength is her indoor voice. I have to say, although these two annoyed me in the beginning, I appreciate that they’ve found a way to excel even though they aren’t the best of friends, unlike Kurt who basically just gave up. Blair finds the clue extremely quickly, which they…

This leg, teams are flying to Trujillo, Peru! Once in Peru, they will travel to the Plaza De Armas and join in the fireworks festivities. Laura reveals that it’s her 30th birthday, so hopefully she’ll get a great birthday present and come in 1st place! The clue also tells teams to monitor their Fitbit charge, as they may need that information later in the leg. Although there is a pre-booked flight arriving at 9:25 am, teams are free to take a different flight. Laura & Tyler don’t realize that they should ask about other flights, so they will be arriving…

This episode began at the pit stop, where Matt tries to tell Jelani & Jenny that they only U-turned them because of the express pass (although this isn’t true). Jelani says it’s fine, but the lawyers aren’t dumb; they know that the hairdressers must be sweating because they used up their one U-turn on a team that is still in the race. At 12:19 pm, Laura & Tyler learn that they will be flying to Amsterdam! I’m super excited, because I want to go there so badly, but for now I’ll have to live vicariously through the racers. Once again,…

To start off this leg, teams will be driven to Swakopmund, where they will go to the local bookstore and scour the paper for their next clue. The hairdressers tell us that they’re planning to work together with Laura & Tyler because they want to U-turn Jenny & Jelani. Once the two leading teams find the clue, the hairdressers speculate that they might be going to Germany because the clue is written in German. Laura corrects them and tells them it’s in German because Namibia was once a German colony. The two teams go to a hotel to have the ad…

This leg begins with teams learning that they will be flying to Windhoek, Namibia. Once they arrive, they will sign up for another flight on one of six bush planes. After spending the night in the airport, all teams arrive in Namibia on the same flight. The olympians will fly on the first bush plane, then the lawyers, followed by the hairstylists, Laura & Tyler, Mike & Rochelle, and Hayley & Blair. Hayley blames Blair for their last place position, because he wanted them to be more comfortable on the flight to Namibia and take seats that were further back…

After what felt like a ridiculously long break (but was actually only two weeks), The Amazing Race is back! This episode started with teams learning that they will be flying to Munich, Germany, where they will go to a clothing shop and pick out proper attire in order to be part of Oktoberfest. All of the teams are on the same flight to Munich, resulting in a foot race to the clothing shop. After changing into their costumes, teams must search for their next clue at Alter Peter Tower. At the tower, Laura & Tyler learn that they will have…
