Big Brother Season 16: Episode 31

It’s week 11 and Derricks reign as puppet master continues with Caleb as HOH. While everyone thinks that the target this week is Nicole, Derrick has other plans. He wants to get rid of Christine because he can’t control her like he can the boys and Nicole and Victoria. Christine sees the writing on the wall and knows that its win Veto or go home this week.  Nicole runs to Derrick for a comforting ear after nominations. She doesn’t want to be terrorized all week and Derrick tells her that won’t happen and she needs to win Veto. It gives Nicole a little extra boost she needs to get her to the Veto meeting without a mental collapse. Derrick has the prime time to drop the Christine seed in everyone’s mind when the boys are upstairs talking about what will happen if Nicole wins Veto. The boys come to an agreement for now but there is still a lot of game left to play. This episode has more game talk in it then we’ve seen in a long while. Everyone wants to make a move but does anyone have the nerve to actually do it?

Nicole has gotten closer to Victoria since she has been back in the house. There really is no one else she can talk to. They know Nicole needs to win Veto but an even better plan to ensure both their safeties is for Victoria to win it and pull down Nicole. Maybe then they can shift some power. Meanwhile Caleb is talking to Derrick about how hard the final 4 decision will be. Derrick takes this as his time to solidify his final 2 deal with Caleb. First he pumps up BMC’s ego a bit which really isn’t that difficult. Then he downplays his own game, making sure Caleb knows that Derrick really isn’t a threat in the game and hasn’t done much game wise. Then he makes Caleb realize that the other two boys would win over him and BOOM  Derrick has a final 2 deal with all 3 guys in the house. The girls are sitting ducks and it’s hunting season! The guys continue to tell Christine she is safe, the plan was always for Christine to come down and Victoria to be a replacement nominee. If they think Christine was born yesterday these guys have another thing coming. Has she made some mistakes this season? For sure, but she knows what is what and she will fight for her life.

The plan going in to Veto is that Victoria is the one they don’t want playing. Well she gets picked and Frankie is left sitting out. Paranoia is strong in this one and he actually checks the chip box for his chip because he is 100% sure they leave it out. This paranoia is not lost on the guys and Frankie become the topic of renomination. King Derrick can’t have this and swings the target back to Christine. These guys are so easily manipulated, Derrick really has the game on lock barring a solitary confinement punishment where the guys can’t talk to him. Cody is actually willing to get rid of Christine who is a number for HIM just to keep Caleb safe. It’s baffling to me that they see this as a team game and not an individual one. Everyone is playing BB Blast today. They are shown a video or a sequence of wires and given a questions about that sequence, they need to cut the wire that is the answer to the question. If they are wrong their bomb gets exploded. Please tell me this competition was thought up after the alliance names were made up. It’s just to coincidental for me. Also the players out the first round will have to dress like a Dinosaur for the week! Oh Nicole if you are out first you will have the record for most costumes worn in a season.  No such luck. Cody is out first and is destined to become Codysaur for one. He is followed by Caleb. Derrick doesn’t want to win this competition but also doesn’t want to be out early so he’s walking a fine line of when to bow out. He would like Nicole to win and is trying to stick around til Christine is out. Victoria follows Caleb and it’s a tie game for a few rounds. Derrick finally decided to cut the cord on his competition and unfortunately for him Nicole is out right beside him. CHRISTINE HAS WON THE POWER OF VETO! I am so happy she won, going into tonight’s Double Eviction we need her there to try to throw a wrench into the guys game. We can only hope!

Right after the competition as Frankie is placing the necklace around her neck he whispers something in Christine’s ear. This has been seen by Beast Mode Ninja and he’s not exactly happy. Derrick is now scrambling for a new target. Beast mode is going to get down to the bottom of things but that doesn’t take long. Christine willing tells Cody Frankie was telling her how well he’d have done in the competition insinuating that Cody and Caleb are not strong mental competitors. Cody takes this info to Caleb. He also points out that Frankie won’t take a guy to the end and he needs to be stopped. The Frankie idea is brought to Derrick who is on board until Nicole tells Derrick that he is the next Dan Gheesling. While flattered, Derrick really needs Nicole to STFU and not tell that to anyone else and blow his game out of the water.  OH Nicole when will you learn to just shut up and look pretty? Caleb has a decision to make, does he play it safe or does he strike first and put up Frankie? Well considering this is the Derrick show it’s not shocker that despite all the grand ideas of big moves Victoria is on the block. In his speech he makes it crystal clear that she is safe and not to worry Nicole is leaving on Thursday. Well played Derrick.

I am not a huge Derrick fan, I probably would be if his game were made harder with stronger personalities and actual sides of the house. His game is the game I like to watch play out but Derrick doesn’t have the personality of a Dan to make it exciting. His game so far is flawless though. He has competition wins under his belt, no real blood on his hand and everyone in the jury with the exception of Donny left the game with warm fuzzy feeling about Derrick it is hard to imagine a scenario where Derrick doesn’t take the check home. I would love him to take Victoria to final 2 and have the jury be so bitter that she wins though. It would be the funniest ending in Big Brother history. Yes people I just rooted for Victoria to win right there, that is what his season has come to. What would you like to see happen in tonight’s double eviction?
