RuPaul’s Drag Race Ep11 “Glitter Ball” Blog Recap

Adore Delano It’s down the the FAB FIVE on RuPaul’s Drag Race this week. Coming in from the latest elimination the girls callout Darrienne Lake for getting mad about being in the bottom three. Darienne of course thinks she always does better than she actually does, and it’s starting to annoy some of the girls. I was totally OBSESSED with this weeks mini challenge. By far the best one of the season! The girls drew puppets of the other queens and then had to dress them up in drag and put on a puppet show. I love any chance of getting to see the queens throw shade at one another. There were many great one liners here! Ben DeLaCreme was announced the winner of the mini challenge with her puppet of Bianca Del Rio.

The main challenge this week is the first ever GLITTER BALL! The challenge is for the queens to create three looks for the runway one of which has to be made completely from scratch in just one day! This is the first time that the queens have to create three looks, they typically only have to do one.  They are all freaking out except Bianca Del Rio. She has sewing experience and is much quicker at finishing these looks compared to the other girls.

Khloe Kardashian While in the werk room, Ru and Adore have a sweet heart-to-heart about Adore and her place in the competition. There was an awkward exchange between Ru and Darienne when Ru asked Darienne why she isn’t winning challenges. While in the werk room, Ru reveal that the guest judges for the glitter ball will be his favorite guest judges Khloe Kardashian and designer Bob Mackie. In addition to creating the three looks for the runway, they have to create a choreographed opening number. Since BenDeLaCreme won the mini challenge, she has to choreograph the challenge. Courtney Act steps in to help, because lets face it, Ben has no dance ability.

They may have struggled with creating the opening number, in the end it turned out not half bad! Out of all the looks I would have to say that Courtney Act had some of the best outfits of the group. She had an executive outfit that was TO DIE FOR. Darienne Lake was a total miss in my opinion. All of her looks were AWFUL!

As if we didn’t get enough shade throwing at the beginning of the episode Ru spiced it up this week! After hearing the judges comments the Queens had to tell who should go home and why! Darienne was the choice that all of the queens had to say.

The bottom two of the night were Bendelacreme and Darienne Lake. They had to lip sync to Kelly Clarkson’s What Doesn’t Kill You (Makes You Stronger) In the end, it was Bendelacreme who was told to sashay away from the competition.

  1. definitely not OK with the final 4. Ben should have stayed and Darienne should have left, all three of her glitterball outfits were a hot mess and she has a bad attitude to top it all off!
